Who we are

The service is operated as dancevsdance at dancevsdance.com. Hosting and authentication rely on Supabase (database, authentication, realtime). Playback uses YouTube’s embedded player.

What we collect

If you paste YouTube URLs, we store the video identifiers and related metadata needed to pair shorts to a canonical song link and display battles. Anonymous voting may use an opaque cookie value so each browser session can vote at most once per battle. If you enable optional analytics on our site (for example GA4 where configured), the analytics provider receives page or event data according to its own policy.

Sign in with Google

When you use Google Sign-In, Google shares an account identifier and basic profile attributes with Supabase Auth (for example email and stable user id). We use that solely to recognise your account across sessions (for example tying submissions or votes where we support signed-in users).

We do not sell your Google account data or use it for advertising beyond what analytics software you allow on the deployed site.

YouTube embeds

Embedded playback is subject to Google’s Terms of Service for YouTube. We don’t mirror or permanently download creators’ videos; we store links and light metadata.

Cookies and local storage

We may set cookies or use browser storage for language preference, skipped-battle reminders, anonymous vote keys, analytics opt-in/opt-out mechanics, or session persistence from Supabase. You can delete site data in your browser at any time.

Children

The site is intended for general audiences. If sign-in reveals you are younger than permitted in your region, discontinue use.

Retention

We keep functional data until it is no longer needed to run battles and leaderboards or until deletion is justified by misuse. You may revoke Google access via your Google account at any time; new sign-ins may recreate a logical account.

International transfers

Supabase regions and Google's systems may store or process information outside your country. By using the service you understand processing may involve cross-border transfer.

Changes

We may update this policy. Continuing to use dancevsdance after changes constitutes acceptance unless we provide a materially different lawful basis for consent.
